I do what I do because I love seeing people grow within the company. I’ve had bartenders and chefs come into London with not much English or confidence and no sense of belonging and after a few weeks within being in Wahaca have seen their whole personality change.  Wahaca brings people from every walk of life together and as a management team we have the freedom to engage and uplift our team in any way we can think of.

From Runner to Junior Accountant

Hey, I’m Sara. I started Wahaca as Deli/Runner in Charlotte Street and have now joined the Central Support Team as a Junior Accountant. Wahaca, for me is all about growing, challenging and developing myself. Wahaca, supports this and I have been able to develop able to develop more than I ever imagined.

I can learn, while having fun. Having fun, while belonging to a fantastic diverse bunch of people, I call my family!


From kitchen porter to Head Chef

My Wahaca story started 6 years ago. I arrived in London not being able to speak English! I started as a Kitchen Porter and with the support and coaching of my Head Chef, I was inspired to progress. I always admired his drive for success and knew one day, I wanted his job! After 4.5 years, I got there. I’m very proud to work for such an amazing company, where stories like this really happen. Now it’s my ambition to be an inspiration to my team, so that they take the opportunities to grow and succeed like I did.
