For every kids meal sold at Wahaca a 20p donation goes to our kids charity partners in the UK & Mexico.
London is the fifth richest capital in the world, yet food insecurity affects over 400,000 children living in the city. This figure has grown substantially since the pandemic as many families do not qualify for government support.
With the donations from Wahaca restaurants since 2019, Kitchen Social has been able to provide close to 4,000 free, nutritious meals to children from low-income families during the school holidays who are at risk of food insecurity because free school meals are not available. Kitchen Social is an inclusive programme tackling the issues of food insecurity and social isolation by supporting over 100 community hubs to provide good food and enriching activities to children in their local area.
