A homemade pinata

MAKE YOUR OWN PIÑATA

6th April 2020

Looking for the perfect way to stop your kids smashing up the house? Here’s our step by step guide to making your own Pinata this Easter.

STEP 1: ASSEMBLE YOUR EQUIPMENT

You’ll need flour, water, newspaper, balloons, string, scissors, glue, paint, tissue paper & lots of treats to put inside

STEP 2: MAKE THE PASTE

Mix one part flour with one part water to create a paste

3. Blow up your balloon

Make sure you cut your  newspaper into thin strips ready for the next step too

4. Cover the balloon with your paper strips

Dip the newspaper strips into paste, squeeze off excess and apply to balloon. Cover the whole balloon at least 2/3 times then leave to dry for 24hr

5. Get painting

Paint the balloon in your chosen colour, once dry, gently pop and remove balloon

6. Decorate your balloon with colourful tissue paper

Top tip: cutting the tissue paper into strips and fraying the bottom is an easy way to add texture to your decoration

7. ADD THE FINAL TOUCHES

Fill with Easter treats & sweets, hang it up & get smashing!
