Over 9th and 10th May together with our pals at Tweat Up, we’re helping our very own Thomasina Miers take over Dalston Yard as she hosts Chilli Chilli Bang Bang, celebrating the mighty chilli pepper. It’ll be a 2 day fiesta of the country’s top street food, chefs demo-ing their most incredible chilli dishes alongside freshly shaken drinks and amazing times.
Watch out for tacos and chilli quesadillas from Wahaca alongside some of our favourite punch-packing street food vendors. Tommi’s own Mexican diner will be cooking-up a sit-down 3-courser of chilli inspired dishes from her brand new book, Chilli Notes for those who like a meal to warm the heart without burning the tongue.
As well as eating, there’s going to be some amazing drinks on offer, with Wahaca’s Mezcaleria stocking some of our favourite agave spirits, thanks to the team at Amathus Drinks. There’s also set to a bang-banging cocktail Bar serving Jose Cuervo’s Tradicional Margaritas and Chilli-Backs.
If that wasn’t enough, Tommi’s lined up a list of her cheffy pals to demo some of their signature chilli dishes to the amassed crowds. Joining Tommi on the Crate Stage will be Giorgio Locatelli, Anna Hansen, Gizzi Erskine, Atul Kochhar, Stevie Parle, Jeremy Lee, Sam Clark, Tim Anderson, Tom Parker Bowles, Martin Morales, Allegra McEvedy, Andy Bates and Claire Ptak. Flying over especially for the festival is Roberto Solis owner of Nectar (and ex of Noma, Fat Duck and Per Se) and Mexico’s specialist in molecular gastronomy. A line up that should give you a pretty good idea of what to do with your next bunch of serranos.
Happening over three sessions (Friday 5pm-midnight, Saturday noon-5pm and 6pm-midnight) at Street Feast’s summer home, Dalston Yard, (just opposite Dalston Junction station), tickets are on sale right now, here. Tickets include a free cocktail and a bottle of beer plus a Margarita back at one of our restaurants after the event. It’s a steal!
