Day of the Dead at the Vaults


Join us for a celebration of Mexican food, music, art and culture over three days in Waterloo’s underground Vaults. Open from 7pm-2am each night on the 2nd, 3rd & 4th November, with a special family event on
Saturday from 1pm-4pm.

What’s On

Immerse yourself in the festival’s labyrinth of tunnels that will play host to a Mayan jungle, hosted by Mandinga Arts, a recreation of the Cemetery Panteon General in Oaxaca, and a reincarnation experience – with performances of poetry and songs where guests will be encouraged to pay their respects to the loved ones they’ve lost.

Family Day

Join us on Saturday 4th of November at 1pm to discover the true spirit of the Day of the Dead with your family through storytelling by Canela Fina, performance by Mandinga Arts, amazing DJ and dancefloor fun by Big Fish Little Fish & hands-on workshops. Join the procession lead by the Voodoo Love Orchestra to the main stage for a grand finale screening of The Book of Life.

All Wahaca’s profits from the event will be donated to charities helping those impacted by the tragic earthquakes in Mexico.
