On Friday 12th and Saturday 13th July we are bringing the year’s biggest Mexican film and culture festival – London MexFest – to Canary Wharf with free outdoor screenings in Canada Square Park each evening.
We’ll be on hand to provide cinematic snacks to munch on while you watch and our Mexican Street Kitchen trailer will be cooking up their finest tacos, burritos and salads in the park too. Just bring a rug and a taste for adventure and settle in for an evening of Mexican film like no other.
On Friday 12th July (7.30pm), we’ll be screening the UK premier of Mariachi Gringo, Winner of the best film award at the Guadalajara Film Festival and Best Hispanic Filmmaker at the Nashville Film Festival. The film tells the story of a small-town guy stuck in a dead end life who runs away to Mexico to become a mariachi singer.
On Saturday 13th July (7.30pm) we’ll be showing family favourite, Nacho Libre staring Jack Black. The film see’s a monk, berated by those around him, follow his dream and don a mask to moonlight as a Mexican wrestler… with hilarious consequences.
Both screenings will be free to attend and you don’t need a ticket, but arrive early to secure the best views.
